FAQs

  • Occupational therapy (OT) is a healthcare profession focused on helping individuals of all ages develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily activities (or "occupations"). This includes tasks such as dressing, cooking, working, and participating in leisure activities, often following illness, injury, or disability. OT uses tailored exercises, strategies, and adaptations to promote independence and improve quality of life.

Pediatric occupational therapy focuses on helping children develop the skills needed for everyday activities, such as playing, schoolwork, self-care, and social interactions. OT for children may address challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, or behavioral concerns, aiming to support their independence, development, and participation in age-appropriate tasks.

All we ask if that prior to putting in the time to create your Superbill is you connect with your health insurance to determine if you have coverage for out-of-network providers and if you will come close to meeting your deductible.

    Thanks for your understanding!

  • We currently only provide occupational therapy services. It is a goal of ours to expand our services to include speech therapy, physical therapy, and mental health services. We will keep you updated as we grow and expand!

  • In pediatric occupational therapy, parents/caregivers play a key supportive role and are a crucial factor in the success of therapy. Given that sessions take place in the child’s home, parents are able to observe and listen in on therapy sessions as they wish, however they are not expected to directly participate in all sessions. At the end of each session, therapists provide parents with an update on the child's progress, activities, and goals. When more in-depth education or training is necessary, parents/caregivers will be invited to participate in a full session, during which the therapist can provide direct guidance on strategies to support their child. This collaborative approach ensures parents are equipped with the tools and knowledge to reinforce skills and strategies at home, promoting continued progress outside of therapy.

  • Please check out our Services page! It provides more details on what an initial evaluation consists of as well as the other services we offer.

  • The duration of therapy depends on each child’s unique needs and goals. Typically, we initially recommend services for 1 year, however, this changes depending on the child’s progress. There are many reasons for a shorter duration of therapy as well as increasing the duration of therapy. Therapists will communicate their recommendations and if there are any changes to the expected duration. Please always ask your therapist if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Both Hannah and Lauren are skilled pediatric occupational therapists. Scheduling with a therapist is determined by therapist availability and your child’s unique challenges. We will do our best to pair you with a therapist that meets the needs of your child and family! If you have a preference for a specific therapist, please feel free to indicate that when submitting your Connect With Us form.
